The orthosis has 2 components:
• arm abduction cushion made of polyurethane foam, covered with fabric.
The abdominal cushion is fixed to the abdomen by a positioning belt provided with one double Lock buckle for adjustment
• arm support made of one single piece that holds the arm on the cushion, provided with a support strap for the thumb and a thoracic harness. This is made of 4 straps adjustable by cutting them and repositioning the “crocodile” type hook and loop fastening, provided with 2 rings and 2 protective sleeves.
The orthosis positions and secures the arm in abduction at 15° to the thorax, by using the support cushion.
It can be used both on the left and the right side.
Hook and loop fastener
It is used in plastical surgery, orthopedics, postoperative, post traumatical
arm and shoulder injuries, scapulohumeral fractures.
The abduction cushionis made of polyurethane foam (sponge) is covered on
both sides with fabric: 50% polyester, 50% polyamide.
The rigid fabric has a high resistance to chemical and biological agents,
resists abrasion and does not absorb water.
The arm support is made of a three-layer laminated textile. The laminated
textile ensemble behaves like a moisture regulator, ensuring a quick transfer
of the moisture to outward.
air transfer water transfer
The laminated ensemble behaves like a moisture regulator: the cotton fabric absorbs body sweat and transfers it to the PU foam and outward.
